The mandate of Environmental biotechnology and bio-conservation department includes promoting and deploying biotechnology research for environmental sustainability. The International Day for Biological diversity will be marked in the department through a number of activities 1. 21st - 22nd May 2025: A two day training on The use of Bioinformatics for basic research in biodiversity and bioconsevation. 2. IDB 2025: 22nd May: a. Biodiversity Action Plan 2025 b. Overview of Biodiversity information system c. Interactive session on utilizing biotechnology to harness Nigerian biodiversity d. Departmental Green house flag off.

5th annual mass tree planting exercise.

The ILIYA YAME KWACHE FOUNDATION has been into mass tree planting annually since 2021. This year, from 7th June to 14th June, the tree planting campaig n will hold in five different towns in Michika, Uba, Adamawa State University Mubi, Lutheran University Demsa and Catholic Seminary Mayo Belwa. We will plant and distribute 100,000 drought resistant tree seedlings to members of the public .
