Raise awareness on biodiversity and promote conservation.




As a part of the World Biodiversity Day celebrations, ITU Bioblitz 2025 aims to build a bridge between local communities and experts, to raise awareness on biodiversity and promote conservation. "ITU Bioblitz 2025" aims to record as many species as possible living in ITU Ayazaga Campus in one day. Volunteers together with experts will observe and document the flora, fauna, and fungi species of the campus. This event will be held free of charge and will be open to any person interested in biodiversity.

To support goal setting and the implementation of international strategies and action plans, spatial guidance is needed to identify which land areas have the potential to generate the greatest synergies between conserving biodiversity and nature’s contributions to peopl e. Here we present results from a joint optimization that minimizes the number of threatened species, maximizes carbon retention and water quality regulation, and ranks terrestrial conservation priorities globally.
