The ILIYA YAME KWACHE FOUNDATION has been into mass tree planting annually since 2021. This year, from 7th June to 14th June, the tree planting campaig n will hold in five different towns in Michika, Uba, Adamawa State University Mubi, Lutheran University Demsa and Catholic Seminary Mayo Belwa. We will plant and distribute 100,000 drought resistant tree seedlings to members of the public . To mark the International Day for Biodiversity 2025, which is celebrated annually on 22 May , and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF), Roman Murzhak, head of the Ecology in ICT clubs at the Kherson Centre for Children and Youth Creativity, will hold online panorama events on the topic ‘Let's Save Biodiversity Together’. More than 110 students are expected to take part in the events. At the event, pupils and students will learn about the importance of biodiversity and how everyone can contribute to biodiversity conservation , and play a game: Interesting facts about birds. We will focus on global goals 4: to stop species extinction, protect genetic diversity and resolve conflicts between humans and wildlife, and 7: to reduce pollution to levels that do not harm biodiversity. Currently, the Muroto UNESCO Global Geopark is collaborating with four regions related to the Kuroshio Current to host a joint exhibition titled “The Path of The Kuroshio Current as Depicted by Geoparks” until the end of May. This exhibition focuses on the connections, commonalities, and exchanges between regions influenced by the Kuroshio Current. Two international days closely tied to the concept of this joint exhibition will take place in May (May 21: World Day for Cultural Diversity, and May 22 : International Day for Biological Diversity ). We depend on it for food, medicine, energy, clean air and water, protection from natural disasters as well as recreation and cultural inspiration. The IDB 2025 campaign seeks to focus the world’s attention on the linkages between the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Goals and Targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF) as two universal agendas that must be pursued in tandem in the spirit of the recently adopted Pact for the future.   To mark the International Day for Biological Diversity on 22 May, the Centre for Functional Ecology (CFE) of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra (FCTUC), in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair in Biodiversity and Conservation for Sustainable Development at the UC, is launching a city-wide awareness campaign . On that day, posters featuring biodiversity photographs taken by CFE researchers will be displayed at various locations across the city. The aim is to raise awareness of biological diversity and encourage action to protect it. The occasion also marks the adoption of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in 1992 — the key international legal framework for biodiversity conservation.
