(3rd Session) 27th meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA-27).

The Subsidiary Body was established under Article 25 of the Convention on Biological Diversity. In addition, in its Article 30, the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety provides that any subsidiary body established by or under the Convention may, upon a decision by the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol, serve the Cartagena Protocol. Similarly, in its Article 27, the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization provides that any subsidiary body established by or under the Convention may serve the Nagoya Protocol. Raise awareness on biodiversity and promote conservation.

As a part of the World Biodiversity Day celebrations, ITU Bioblitz 2025 aims to build a bridge between local communities and experts, to raise awareness on biodiversity and promote conservation. "ITU Bioblitz 2025" aims to record as many species as possible living in ITU Ayazaga Campus in one day. Volunteers together with experts will observe and document the flora, fauna, and fungi species of the campus. This event will be held free of charge and will be open to any person interested in biodiversity. Biodiversity, the variety of plants, animals and ecosystems in the world is a measure of our planet's health. Over-exploitation, habitat destruction and the introduction of invasive species are threatening earth's biodiversity. It's time to tum the tide.
