THE BOLIVIA CHINCHILLA RAT FALLS INTO EXTINCTION.

Bolivian chinchilla rats are listed as Vulnerable (VU) on the IUCN red list of threatened species. Data on populations and ecological requirements are extremely limited and they are also designated "data deficient."


A taxon is Vulnerable (VU) when the best available evidence indicates that it meets any of the criteria A to E for Vulnerable, and it is therefore considered to be facing a high risk of extinction in the wild.
