Building on previous years, AIPP will once again collaborate members and partners to celebrate the 2025 International Day for Biodiversity. During AIPP engagements with Indigenous communities across Asia, a recurring message has emerged: the need to sensitize and empower Indigenous Youth and Indigenous Children in sustaining our cultural identities, worldviews, traditional practices, and occupations. We have also witnessed inspiring stories of young people returning to their communities, ta king leadership roles , and innovating by using Indigenous Knowledge with contemporary learning. To mark the International Day for Biological Diversity, the Acopian Center for the Environment is hosting a youth-focused workshop at the American University of Armenia on May 22, 2025. As Armenia prepares to host COP17 in 2026, this event highlights the vital role of young people in achieving global biodiversity goals. Through presentations, youth-led sessions, interactive games, and a panel discussion, participants will explore the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), and how youth can lead meaningful action for nature.
